Albert Uderzo and the adventures of Asterix and Obélix

The adventures of Asterix and Obelix and their irreducible Gallic village, born of the ingenuity and colors of Goscinny and Uderzo, gave rise to 38 albums, of which 380 million copies were sold in 111 languages.

Born in 1927 in the town of Fismes, next to Reims (northern France), and fascinated by comics and making others laugh (he never hid that his frustrated profession was that of a clown), Uderzo drew from his earliest childhood , which led him to create his first comic in 1944, «Flambergue", a musketeers story.

His life changed five years later, after meeting Goscinny, whom he considered his «brother»And with whom he devised the adventures of one of the most universal characters in the history of the comic: Asterix the gaul.

Also authors of other comics such as the little Indian Umpah-Pah, the creative couple broke up in 1977 with the death of the screenwriter, which plunged Uderzo into devastation.

However, the cartoonist overcame and decided to continue with the Asterix series practicing himself as a scriptwriter and cartoonist (which he will do for another seven albums), and even founded his own publishing house, Albert-René.

In 2013, he announced that he would no longer be able to draw and gave the witness of Asterix to the illustrator Didier Conrad and the screenwriter Jean-Yves Ferri, although it retained the power to supervise the new albums, the last of which, "La hija de Vercingetórix", appeared last year.

After studying History at the University and after many previous tests, Red Historia was born, a project that emerged as a means of dissemination where you can find the most important news of archeology, history and humanities, as well as articles of interest, curiosities and much more. In short, a meeting point for everyone where they can share information and continue learning.
